Revised Supplementary Release on Properties of Liquid Water at 0.1 MPa
September 2011

PDF of document

Description
This Supplementary Release contains simple correlations that may be used for calculation of liquid water properties at (and near) 0.1 MPa pressure. The purpose is to provide a convenient representation of these properties at this common condition, with uncertainties no greater than those of the more complex IAPWS formulations that cover wide ranges of temperature and pressure.
The formulations included are for thermodynamic properties, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and the static dielectric constant.
The range of validity of the correlations is for liquid water from 253.15 K to 383.15 K, except for thermal conductivity where the lower limit is 273.15 K. This includes regions where the liquid is metastable.
The development of the correlations is described in detail in a scientific article.

Online calculation
The Russian National Committee of IAPWS (through Moscow Power Engineering Institute) has provided an online calculation page, which may be useful in program development and verification. Note that IAPWS is not responsible for the content of these online calculation pages.

Revision History

This Supplementary Release is the product of the Working Group "Thermophysical Properties of Water and Steam" (TPWS) of the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS).
